"Artists are explorers in a world of endless possibilities."
Carolyn spent her early childhood in western Nebraska, moving to Arizona when she entered High School. She currently lives and works from her studio in Laveen, AZ. After retiring, Carolyn enrolled as a part time student at Glendale Community College. It was there that she was introduced to the world of watercolor by her then art instructor Darlene Goto. This has become her medium of choice.
Style: Abstract • Realism

Carolyn's works are part of a permanent exhibit at Midwestern University, Glendale Arizona. She is one of the featured artists on the Century Editions Website, Scottsdale, Arizona. Her works hang in businesses and private collections in the United States, Germany and Mexico.
I am one of those explorers, continually searching for a subject that will inspire me to create a painting that will tell a story and evoke an emotion. Watercolor creates colors and textures that cannot be achieved in any other medium. I prefer to work with primary colors in the majority of my work. Mixing and layering with this pallet allows me to achieve the harmony and texture I desire in my work. Then, there is the unexpected beauty that watercolor creates on its own. Painting is my way of expressing the beauty I see in our world. I am in awe of the beautiful bright colors of each new day, the gray-blue clouds of an impending storm, the warm colors and dark shadows of the evening sunset and the still dark restful night.
