What artists communicate to their audiences is really important. It can elevate an email inquiry into a sale. It can turn the director of an art gallery visiting your website from doing a quick review of your website into a being accepting into their gallery. (Yes, there are things that turn them off!) It could be the last check that a jury or art curator does to confirm whether you get into an exhibit. Yes, your communications are that vital.
Because communication is so important, we are offering a new service called an Annual Communications Review. Lauren Edgar, our Director and Artist Career Coach will personally be analyzing the effectiveness of all of your external communications. She will be doing this based on her years of experience in the art world and in understanding what you are wanting to achieve in your art career.
Items reviewed includes all your external communications including:
• Website
• Bio and Statement
• CV
• Blogs
• Social Media
A major part of the review includes understanding who you want to communicate with. So there are key questions in our intake form that will help us identify if you are sending the right messages.
Andsering questions such as these will be helpful.
• Are you selling to collectors directly. If so how?
• Do you want to sell work from your website?
• Are you selling your work in galleries?
• Do you want to sell your work in a gallery?
• What are your main goals for your art career?
What you will receive
For this Annual Review and Communications Audit, we will review your every page and aspect of your website. We will read your bio, statement and exhibit history. The entire review will be based on the goals and aspirations you have for your art career, indicated on your intake form.
You will receive a personalized report.
• An individualized report on the effectiveness of your communications for the audience your are wanting to attract
• Summary: An overview of what is currently working and what is not based on the goals you want to achieve.
• Page-by-page: We will provide a page-by-page review of your website. What works and what needs to change to communicate effectively with the audiences you are seeking.
• Bio & Statement: We will review these key written communications and provide our recommendations on improvements and adjustments that may need to be made.
• C.V.: We will ensure your exhibit history is current and is written out properly. We will comment on how it reflects on the audience you are trying to attract and how to improve it if desired.
• Social Media: We will review your social media accounts and provide our advice on how well you are communicating and ways to improve your posts and written text.
