Artist Paints “Outside the Lines” in New Solo Exhibit
Artist Kristin Harvey is honored to announce a new solo exhibit in her hometown of Green Valley, AZ. The exhibit titled “Outside the Lines" will be held at the Desert Hills Lutheran Church, 2150 S. Camino Del Sol, Green Valley, AZ. This new solo exhibit opens on September 6 with an opening reception from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The artist will be in attendance, and the public is invited to join in celebrating this new exhibit. The artwork will be on exhibit through the month of October. The exhibit is open to the public during regular church hours.
Kristin has created an entirely new body of work for this new exhibit. The exhibit title, “Outside the Lines”, comes from an idiom that means to not follow the rules, to think creatively, and to behave in an
unconventional manner.
Kristin’s artist statement about the exhibit explains how the title reflects her personal and painting style. “In an earlier style of painting, I painted inside the lines. I loved drawing and used white outlines on the shapes and figures on my canvases. It felt good to incorporate drawing into my paintings. At that time, every detail was mapped out in chalk and pencil. With the sketch in place, those outlines became a guide for my brushstrokes. I have grown on my creative journey, and I approach my paintings quite differently now. No longer are details pre-planned. Rather, I paint intuitively, surrendering to my spirit and allowing it to flow through the paint and onto the canvas in any way that feels natural at that moment.”

Abstract artist, Joan Maureen Collins, exhibits paintings from her newest series,
“Reverie Unbound”, in a solo exhibit at Globe Fine Art Gallery, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The exhibit runs from May 10 to June 7, 2024.
In this new series, Reverie Unbound, Joan steps away from the landscape to create paintings that are deeply personal and inspired by her daydreams. The resulting canvases are deeply layered and yet exhibit a translucent quality.
