FREDDIE LIEBERMAN

I view the world on many levels. As my painting style has evolved, my artwork reflects that and those many overlapping layers of glazes, paints and embellishments create intriguing color combinations and shapes — always with a keen awareness of composition and balance. All of these layers come together under one or two coats of expertly applied resin which makes the colors POP and brings out all the layers — right down to the base.

Just as each layer continuously changes the look of the painting, a lifetime accumulation of experiences all contribute to the person we are today.

Medium: Painting • Prints

Style: Abstract, Contemporary, Mixed Media, Portraits, Sudokus, EPRA (Excess Paint Recycling Alternative)

Additional Bio and contact information

freddie Lieberman

Art has always played an important role in Freddie's life, however, her first major project at age 3 didn't go over well at all. In the early morning hours she decided to create a crayon mural on her grandparents' freshly painted living room walls.

After earning her BFA from the University of Illinois and then attending classes at the Chicago Art Institute, Freddie taught art at the high school level for several years. She then set out on her own as a freelance artist specializing in wall murals and graphics and later custom finishes on walls and furniture, portrait chairs and benches and whatever anyone wanted that could be painted.

Fourteen years ago Freddie ventured into the world of contemporary canvas paintings — experimenting with many materials and techniques and perfecting the use of resin to bring out the colors of her many layers of thinned glazes. As she continued on this path, her art has evolved to include metal leaf, metallic fabrics, antique netting, multiple acrylic-based products, sequins, inks, glass beads, 3D elements and more.

Membership in the Scottsdale Artists League and serving as its' President has been a very important part of Freddie's life. Sharing with this group of wonderful, caring and very talented artists has made her reach ever so much higher. Freddie was thrilled and honored to be named Scottsdale Artists League 2018 Artist of the Year.
