"I am always seeking an opportunity to share what I see and hope that you can see and feel my passion through my images."
Gaylene is a 25-year veteran of nursing at a local hospital and an adjunct professor at a local community college in Scottsdale, AZ. She has had a passion for photography since her teens, starting with a Pentax K1000 and Olympus OM1 advancing to her latest camera, a Nikon Mirrorless. She has shared this passion with her younger sister and nephew. Gaylene loves to travel to the far corners of the world such as Africa, Antarctica, and South America. Out of all those places, she loves the Southwest for its diverse landscape and culture. Photography is an art, done with passion and patience. Gaylene has completed several photographic workshops in the Southwest as well as online. She says that learning from others is a great tool. Gaylene’s favorite subjects to photograph are landscape, nature and wildlife. Gaylene is inspired and influenced by photographers Paul Nicklen, David Yarrow, Tom Mangelsen and Ansel Adams.
