"One of the greatest gifts of becoming an artist has been learning to see. I used to look at the world but now I see it - refracting the world through my own lens is a joy."
Working in pastel and oil, Julia strives to capture those moments that have tripped some artistic trigger. As a native Texan and an Arizona resident for over 30 years, her sensibilities are grounded in the American Southwest, and her subject matter is often the arid magic of the desert, its animals and landscapes.
The year of quarantine brought with it a new interest in whimsical abstracts, which she is pursuing with a frenzy.
