My studio is located at the base of the South Mountain Preserve in Phoenix, AZ. Tucson was my stomping ground most of my life and I sign my paintings with The Rocking Q, which was the family brand. My childhood was blessed. My Mother did not believe in store bought toys, and instead provided me with saws, hammers, piano boxes, art supplies - you name it, she made sure I had access to it. Animals were also a plenty in our household. I was often sick as a child and a garden was planted in front of my window so I would have beautiful things to look at during the day to make longs stays in bed a bit shorter. That environment of animals, kids, nature, imaginative play and love are the roots of my artistic soul and fed by the desire to share with others the joys in nature as I have experienced them.

I graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Health and Physical Education. Art was not in the picture until in my mid 30's when I was ill once again. Loss of strength in my arms and legs left me at home unable to care for my children and no job. It is so very true that when one door closes, another opens. I rediscovered my childhood love of creating things and feel that artistic expression was the road I was meant to take. I have not looked back since.
Although I have no formal training, I have worked in many mediums and each has lent itself to the other. My collectors can be found in the United States, Canada , England and Mexico. The one thing that has always remained a constant in my work is the desire to calm, embrace and amuse the viewer with the delights of Mother Nature and all her creatures. I believe with all my heart she is something to celebrate and bring into your home or working environment.
