Pat was a programmer and systems analyst for many years, working for IBM in Salt Lake City and Honeywell in Chicago and finally starting her own business. “I loved to help my clients develop new computer applications and solve problems. It was always a creative and rewarding vocation for me.”
Medium: Glass, Kiln formed (fused)
Style: Contemporary, Abstract
In the early 90's Pat developed a love of glass art and started collecting glass pieces. In 2008 she decided to try her hand at creating glass and purchased a small kiln. Little did she know how it was going to take over her life! She has now added a second kiln and any available funds are spent on classes, glass and tools. (and her electric bill!) “I love to experiment with different techniques, colors and textures. Every time I open my kiln there is a surprise waiting for me. The latest piece is usually my favorite - until I make the next one.”
Pat also teaches classes in her studio and enjoys sharing her knowledge and watching her students get excited about creating glass. Her work was selected for the Sky Harbor Airport Museum exhibit from November 2014 through May 2015 and again from January 2019 through July 2019 She is currently showing at the Gallery at el Pedregal and you may also purchase at her website.
