JERRI BRACKETT

I've lived along both sides of the Rocky Mountain range since I was born in Denver, Colorado. I also lived in New Mexico for four years. I could never tolerate the cold winters, so my "creative psyche" would paint non-local, massive flower landscapes and saguaro cacti desert scenes contrary to my environment. So, I've developed my own personal abstract style of southwestern, colorful, fantasy land - escapes and only paint with oils and most often exclusively with palette knives.

I was lucky enough to take four years of art lessons in the 70's from a fantastic art teacher who taught us to see "space through pattern" which broke my "flat space" style that I began as a teenager. It was better than college as a young married mother, learning extensive art history, color theory and design. I've developed my own style ever since. And now, I'm finally living amongst the Saguaro cactus!
