The comment I hear most often about my paintings is “HAPPY.” I’ve loved art all of my life and it warms my heart to know that I’m able to pass that love and joy on to others. I use color and shape to capture the wonders of the world around me. My love affair with art began as a child, when my favorite present was a new box of Crayola crayons.
Medium: Painting, Acrylic
Style: Contemporary Landscape, Abstract, Southwest
I earned a BFA Degree in Painting and Drawing in 1967 from the University of Georgia, married, raised two children and taught art during those years. I ran my own art school in Atlanta many years with about 100 students per week with kids and adults. I painted for galleries and also painted oil portraits, joining the Atlanta Portrait Society.
“My work and my vacation are one and the same."
I moved to Arizona and painted the West for 20 years. I paint scenes from my travels including a 5 month Road Trip USA, Iceland, Ireland, Switzerland, France, Canada, etc. I lived 5 years near grandkids in Charleston, SC and Macon, GA. I missed Arizona and returned! I now live in Sedona/Cottonwood area and am enjoying hiking, sketching, painting and teaching.
I count my blessings that God gave me this talent and that I can share it with others.
